Exaggeration: The squash/stretch of the ball is exaggerated on the until the end where the ball bounces.

Anticipation: When the basketball is moving toward the hoop, the viewer expects the ball to go through the hoop.

Timing: The ball slows down before hitting the ground on the first jump. The ball stays flattened for a second or two to emphasize the ball's failure to reach the hoop.
